As Commissioner Ted Will:

This is the BIG one. People are running low on money; they are losing their homes, jobs, and their way of life. We need to lower taxes and put money back in the tax payers pockets. Before we do this we need to cut spending. We will ask all government departments to make sacrifices. It's time we find more efficient way of spending the taxpayer's money.

Through out our history, in areas that the government fell short, the private sector has found ways of doing the same job, faster, better, and more cost efficiently. This will lead to job growth.

With our federal government printing so much money inflation is inevitable, it's just a matter of time before our dollar loses its value. We need to take steps now to prepare for the future. This issue was started at the federal level, but the fight to stop it begins right here at home in Cecil County. The most important thing people can do is to pay off their debts. We cannot live our lives on credit, as many people have been. In order for people to do this they need to keep as much of the money they earn so they are capable of paying off their debts. The first step to accomplish this is cutting the county budget.

Make no mistake, in order to do this will require sacrifice from all of us. These are not easy times, but these sacrifices today will prevent or lessen a much greater sacrifice at a later date in time.
